Your boyfriend is facing some serious time. Exempt from Jail he will be but not from prison. Get ready to cry when he leaves you won't see him for awhile. What a dumbA#$. Mr Bill

His defense attorney should bring that up with the Prosecutor.

I'm not sure as to what you mean by "staged robbery". For the purpose of answering your question, I will assume it means "premeditated robbery". Unless the Crown can 100% prove that it was premeditated, then your boyfriend cannot be charged with the offence of First Degree Conspiracy. Rather, he would be subject to less harsh sentencing if it was a "spur of the moment" action. If you're tight on money, request a community lawyer (that's the first step you should take if you have financial problems). Until you get a lawyer for your boyfriend, advise him not to give any information, and tell him to request for either a community lawyer or duty counsel. It is within his rights to request to be represented by a legal authority, no matter if he's a robber, or a murderer. Once you have counsel, try asking your counsel what to do next. Most likely, your counsel will try to lessen the harshness of the situation. If your counsel can prove the robbery was not premeditated, then you can JUST slip by incarceration and end up with a heck of a lot of community service hours and mental counselling (but this is less than a 5% chance, in my opinion). These are the first few steps I suggest you take; if your boyfriend has declared he wants legal representation, then not even the Queen of England has any right to force information out of him! Remember, advise him not to say ANYTHING (besides general information such as name, etc.) until he receives legal attention. Good Luck!!!!
