  • theres basically 2 ways, one is thru control panel- changing the program settings. The other would be to use the program itsself and find the settings and change them from there... and also if you name specific programs here, then theres normally people who know exactly what to do... IE: give more detail
  • If you're confident about dealing with lists of computer programs and what they do, you can also check out 'Autoruns', a free utility available from the Microsoft SysInternals website. A web search for 'autoruns microsoft sysinternals' will find it. It's basically a list of everything, really everything, that starts up when your computer does, or when you log in to it. That includes drivers, important system services, and all sorts. There's one section of it for installed software, though, so you can disable those annoying applications that insist on starting up when your computer does. You just have to be confident you know which is safe to be turned off...
