You know, I've heard people argue this both ways. I learned "she," because you wouldn't say "than her is;" but I've heard people argue that "her" is objective case and should be there... I'd suggest saying "I am smarter than she is."

Without getting into the grammer aspects, ask yourself which makes more sense-I am smarter than her (her what, goldfish?)or I am smarter than she (is). Or you could say, "I be smarting better than that bitch!"

It doesn't sound right for me to say "I am smarter than she" without putting "is" on the end. as long as the is on the second one... both sound fine.

If the person in question was called Ann and you decided to use her name, you would say, "I am smarter than Ann." If you were talking about her you would say her. For example you wouldn't say, "Do you know she?", so I think the correct way to word it would be, "I am smarter than her."
