I have a 2002 model rca projection tv m/np52955 and the picture is distorted and it takes it a while to come on?????what is wrong and can it be fixed?

you don't give us the age of the tv but it sounds like the projection bulb has gone bad. Good Luck

If it is a DLP there is something called a light engine that when it begins to fail will show and maintain distortion in the picture. There are several circuits in the power supply that will not full-power-up when is senses an excessive load. Sometimes its the power supply itself. Puffed capacitors that leak and loose their functional value of capacity. Sure it's fixable?
