  • Now it makes the two of us.
  • Your not alone here, in fact the majority of American's feel the same way as you, something like 70ish percent I think.
  • No...Look at my question....
  • Not at all. A lot of representatives voted against it because of constituents calling and e-mailing messages expressing their dislike for the plan. I, for one, am vehemently opposed to a bailout.
  • I agree with you so your not alone and alot more Americans belive that too.
  • I don't know the answer to the problem. I do know that something has to be done. We can't just let the banks go under. If that happens we are looking at a total collapse of our economy.
  • I think about this and a part of me wants me to just leave the country... except my dollar isn't worth shit anywhere so this would probably not be a good idea right now. I mean the National Debt is already 10 freaking TRILLION... 700 BILLION... I THINK WE HAVE ALREADY FREAKING PROVEN IN THE LAST 8 YEARS THAT THE TRICKLE DOWN EFFECT DOES NOT WORK! I guess the Bush administration doesn't think they have tried hard enough... so lets just try once more to screw over the American population before leaving the White House... BRING BACK CLINTON! Haha... seriously... haha... look at the national debt clock... I mean do you have $32,468.39 to give to the government to pay off our national debt?
  • No, you're not
  • No, I think it is a very bad thing, but how bad is the alternative? I don't know either, but I think it is probably as scary.
  • No I agree with you!! Not to change the subject..but your Steelers look good, i wonder who will win??:):)
  • BAD BAD BAAAAD IDEA!!!! I don't want my kids (hey, I'm 21!) to be paying for this thing with THEIR taxes too. Dreadful idea, doom is what that means for us in the US if we keep printing money and raising taxes.
  • There is no proof what so ever that offering 700 billion is going to do anything to help the public's economy! It may not even help the entities they intend to give the money to anyway! They've already shelled out 400 billion and things are supposedly getting worse if you can believe what they are telling everyone! So why continue, let it stop and watch the failings end!
  • No, 228 members of US Congress also thought so and rejected the bailout.
  • Obviously not it's been voted against. Oh but hey.. brace yourself they are already planning another Bailout!!! Lol
  • No..we the people contacted our representatives, told them what a terrible idea this is, and they reacted accordingly. So..we the people do have a voice if just speak up.
  • No...not in the least. Throwing billions of dollars at a problem is not going to make it go away. Sure, it may help the businesses in trouble a little bit....but the taxpayer have to foot the bill. And do WE get any help from this bailout? Nope....we get screwed over once again. The situation needs fixing, but it has to be fixed right.
  • Nope, I think it is a horrible thing. People seem to forget to realize the basic principals of supply and demand here. If we just pump in another 700 billion dollars into the economy, we will flood it with US dollars. If there is a lot of them, the value of the dollar goes down, therefor prices for everything we pay for goes up (like gas) and we cant afford things as it is. We are in a downward spiral and there is no getting out. Can a country declare bankruptcy?
  • Sorry, but I just don't get it. Where do they get this enormous number from and what comes after billions, trillions, dillions, fillions, gillions, hillions...??? as far as I know there are only 26 letters in the alphabet but who knows these days!! and where is all this money going and is the only thing of any value left in the world OIL???? oohh, sorry, you're the one asking the questions, I'm supposed to be answering it. I have exactly the same feeling of "am I the only one" and its reassuring to see I'm not!
  • not at all. there have been protests on the streets against the bail-out, even in our rural, conservative area.
  • I agree with you. Its because of poor decisions made by upper management(CEOs, VPs, boards of directors, etc.) ran these companies into the red. I understand a bad economy can hurt big businesses badly. But the big question is why should the American tax payer suffer for mistakes we had no control over? Many of these CEOs, the same CEOs who destroyed the company, are still getting double digit millions packages?!?! We are doing nothing buy rewarding financial irresponsibility. If i blow all my money and don't pay my mortgage I lose my house, right? why isn't it stay way for these companies?
