    I doubt it, they're just a bunch of wets, they should try playing some rugby.

    I do not know much about rugby but I have seen a game or two. Have you seen the size of our football players compared to the rugby players? How would you like a 6 ft 5 250 pound man smacking into you full force? Yeah I would say all the padding is needed. And the Insurance on the teams requires it. The other factor is if you are paying a player 10 million plus for a season you are going to do whatever possible for him to last the whole season and not get hurt.
