  • refresh my memory, when or where did the US attack a sovereign nation without provocation?
  • My first thought was .. according to Sarah Palin, yes. She has labeled the Iraq War, "God's War." And then I watched the thoughtful, reflective video you provided and just want to say ~ Well Done! Your contributions here are appreciated and such a breath of fresh air!
  • Well, god told Bush to do it. I guess that would qualify as a 'yes'...unless, of course, it was some other god that told him to do it
  • I don't see how. "Thou Shalt Not Kill" doesn't say "unless you want to" or "unless oil is involved" or "unless you are getting revenge for the past". It simply says "Thou Shalt Not Kill"! :)
  • Christianity isn't about what governments do. It's about individuals and their relationship with God. GWB certainly did not turn the other cheek, but he did show some love for his neighbors, the victims of Saddam's vicious reign. But then he allowed Halliburton to run just as roughshod over the people. Not very Christian. But his 'faith' appears to be more lip service than actually standing up for justice.
  • First of all, the commandment is "Thou shalt not commit murder." It is only through mistranslation that we arrived at "Thou shalt not kill." Secondly, it is Christian to defend those that cannot defend themselves. When Sadam committed genocide, a documented fact, he put himself in harms way. And, third, Sadam didn't just convince Bush. The vast majority of the world believed he had the weapons. I very much believe in peace but, if you tell me enough times that you are going to hit me, trust me, eventually you will convince me and then I will have to kick your butt! I realize that he was trying to run a bluff on Iran but he should have been a little more candid with us instead of being confrontational. If Bush wasn't so honest, he could have just had stuff planted. Do you honestly think he doesn't have the power to do that? Before you bring up the other cases of genocide going on, we don't have the power to take on the Chinese and Africa and the rest of the world at the same time. And, it's a sad thing that the French can't remember back 70 years. Maybe they wouldn't be so free with their negative garbage. We lost enough lives saving their butts (those that weren't busy being Germany's puppets.)
  • Well, gee, friendo, if I didn't know better I would think you weren't a friendo at all but some Middle-Eastern troublemaker.
  • Sure. It was the Crusades way back when that set the example for this kind of thing. Besides, it was the Christian god himself who told Bush to go ahead and do it
  • Good video. You know what? you're right. However you are wrong in assuming that the leaders of this nation are christians. They just say that Because no one would elect an atheist (it has happened once). Notice how everyone in our corrupt congress claims to be a christian. That tells you they really aren't christians. Now would Jesus step in to help somebody? yes. read this part slowly so you don't mistaken me. If the US REALLY went in for WHY THEY SAID they were going in (which was to LIBERATE the IRAQi's from Saddams genocide) then "MAYBE". IF THEY JUST SAID THAT TO get their way then of course not.
  • Every time we go to war we go for "God and Country." We began an illegal, unnecessary, immoral holly war om Iraq. They were nor are any threat to us...they do however have alot of oil. And of course the christian god wants his people to take that oil from the infedels. How are we any different from the "radical muslims?"
  • There are many definitions of Christianity around here...
