Just how often are gas shortages occuring lately in the United States? Are other western countries having the same problems? What is really going on?

I'm in the US and we haven't had any shortages. The price of gas has actually dropped by almost $1.00/gal. the past couple weeks.

Gas shortages are rampant in the south due to the hurricanes..just heard a report that in some places there will be no gas available for a couple more weeks. As for other areas of the country, I have not heard of any recently.

There are no shortages in my area. I have seen several news reports of shortages in the south. People are running out of gas waiting in lines 1/2 an hour long. They are blaming it in the two hurricanes that struck. I don't understand why they don't increase production during or even before hurrican season. They have us by the ball$!!!

Gas shortages are rampant in Southern United States and in most Middle Eastern countries who do not export oil. The rest of the countries are doing fine.
