How would you go about getting rid of someone that has out stayed their welcome in your house?

just be honest with them and put your foot down . that is the best way and if they still wont go you may have to ask for a police escort out that door.

On several occasions Ive experienced free riders in my home.The only way to stop them from being fat lazy parasites is to tell them of and if they continue to stay they have to look for jobs and start paying for the bills.

If you mean visitors staying over an hour why don't you do like my brother and sister inlaw do he will turn the tv up and stay watching it she will keep looking up at the ceiling. If that doesn't give someone the hint to leave nothing will.

I find the direct approach is best. Just tell them it's time for them to go and go open the door.

I)Short - term visit ( dinner party hangers on) Keep looking at the clock If that doesnt work, then feign a phone call and pretend that you need to go out somewhere, and well it was nice having you, thanks and good bye. II) Long term visit ( house guests who become house parasites) The best way to get rid of house parasites is pest control - literally! Tell them that you need to vacate the house for some fumigation and pest control. Infact ask if you can move in at their place while it is being done. Or ask if they will book a hotel for the remainder of their stay - and could they please accomodate you too... Believe me - they will pack up and flee, and being free loaders, they will certainly not take you with them!
