Yep, but I try to comment with something related to the answer and/or question, too. It's only polite, after all, and lets them know I read and appreciate their answer. ;-)

Only if I've interacted with that user before or if I have a comment to make about their answer. Like you, I could leave a big comment without worry but a new user usually gets the "Thank you +" unless their answer was noteworthy and I have more to say that isn't personal. :)

I NEVER simply say "thanx" to an answer to one of my questions.

What's wrong with saying thanks all of a sudden? Are you going to give any of the people who answered you question points? Nobody here has any... weird ...
