  • I'm assuming you can in IE and other applications... Have you checked the volume control/mute? most videos have one. IE and firefox store the setting separately, so one can work while the other is silent

  • While the position of the video is rendered by Firefox, the plug-in has absolute control of that spot. Firefox can't even detect a mouse click there. . Ditto the sound. Each plug-in can add their output to the sound channel irregardless of others. . So it sounds like either a plug-in problem ( reinstall ) or a sound codec problem ( www.free-codecs.com ) or a sound driver problem in Windows. .
