I can't hear sound in videos using firefox. How can I fix this?

I'm assuming you can in IE and other applications... Have you checked the volume control/mute? most videos have one. IE and firefox store the setting separately, so one can work while the other is silent

While the position of the video is rendered by Firefox, the plug-in has absolute control of that spot. Firefox can't even detect a mouse click there. . Ditto the sound. Each plug-in can add their output to the sound channel irregardless of others. . So it sounds like either a plug-in problem ( reinstall ) or a sound codec problem ( www.free-codecs.com ) or a sound driver problem in Windows. .
