Interesting...
Red is the colour of love, but also blood and pain. In the UK red is the colour of the Labour Party, but in America its the Republicans. Red means danger, but also wealth (as well as purple).
Blue is the colour of the sea and the sky. But it's also cold and frigid. It means Conservative in the UK, Democrats in the US.
So it's not just what they look like, but what the colours mean too! I'd have to go with red.
Red.
Like the godfather said, it's the colour of love and passiob, but also of pain.
No pain no gain, no risk no pay out.

Depends on the look you want.
Red isn't really for love these days, unless it's light or powder red. Red mainly symbolises blood now. It can also symbolise anger, daring and courage, energy, aggressivness, attention or being the centre of attention, loudness, and a few other things. Red is eye-catching, strong, dominant and powerful.
Blue, as mentioned before in someone else's answer, is the colour of the sky - peaceful, tranquil - and also the sea - sometimes calm, lonely and quiet, other times angry and violent. Blue can also be seen as calm to the point of emotionlessness or coldness.
It's your choice.
