I travel like my LIFE depended on it. I take everything I MIGHT want to do, and a little work (JUST in case). I take cosmetics I haven't worn in 6 months because I MIGHT want to wear them this weekend. I take my sudokus even though I haven't worked one in a year. I have MEANT to start my tooth whitening kit for weeks, so I take that because I MIGHT get started....And on and ON. (My husband hates it.)

Seems like everywhere we look, the advice type folks say to go LIGHT. Me? I pack with all sorts of "in case". What's changed is that I've gotten better at how I fold and pack and tuck them rather than packing less! Pack rat time. However, it's often turned out I "did" use what I took. But then, I seem either not to travel .. or .. if I go to all that trouble, it's for a fairly long time. I often do research while traveling, so I have my laptop and files and "all that" too. :)

Because most of my traveling is by motorcycle, I take bare essentials and credit cards.

Usually I'll take much more than I need, especially if the weather is iffy. I like to have options of what clothes to wear for any conceivable situation.
