Christmas is the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ, to make it short and sweet.

Christmas as we know it today was created by the Roman Catholic Institution as an alternative holiday celebration to a Pagan celebration which took place around December 25th or so. Although there is said to be records of Christians celebrating the birth of Christ as an alternative to the Pagan holidays around them prior to the creation of Roman Catholicism (with Constantine in the 4th century A.D.) only it was not called "Christmas" back then until the Roman Catholic Institution gave it that name and set the date for December 25th. The holiday is supposed to be about Jesus Christ, God's only begotten Son and the Creator of all things, and His birth into this world to come and save us by shedding His precious blood and dying on the cross for our sins, but many people do not acknowledge Him or what He has done, sadly. -In Jesus' Name. Thank you and may God bless you! :)
