  • Because none of heir friends or family were good enought to tell them the truth, just unconditional love.
  • to prove themselves
  • 5 seconds of fame
  • 15 seconds of fame - They're on TV!
  • I think it's because some people are prepared to sacrifice all their dignity and self-respect for five minutes on TV.
  • Because they either think they really have skills and want to get "discovered" much like most of these clowns on these reality shows who think it is going to be their big break into acting. The other group are the clowns who know they have no skills and think they can get some recognition into another aspect of their lives. FOr example, some guy who has just opened a restaurant in hhis home town and wants everyone to see him on tv so people might come to his place after seeing him on tv.
  • I think some of them think they really do have talent. They are the ones that when told that they stink argue with the judges.
  • The same reason people post on AB who can neither spell correctly or construct a coherent sentence.
  • Determined, unrelent, self-confident, believing in onself--all those things are, without question, good attributes. But equally good and very important is to be fully aware of your own shortcomings and limitations. If you don't do that, you could brake the very thin line that divides relity and self-dellusion and end up making a full out of yourself. Particularly, if you don't have familly members and/or friends willing to tell you the truth. Telling you the truth is, in fact, part of the unconditional love bargain.
  • It's a set-up. It always has been. Now shows like American Idol have entire episodes dedicated to people so bad they can't possibly be that untalented. Reality shows are anything but real.
  • honestly the only reason I can think of is that these people truly believe they are talented and no one has been truthful enough to tell them they suck.
  • Someone told them they have or had talent gave them that confidence to go and persue some false dream.
  • They aren't any other options for them in their perception, last chance to bocome something before fading back into the grey...
  • 5 minutes of fame....plus some people become famous for having no talent..look at Britney Spears.
  • There's always the chance that they will be the next big star whether they have any talent or not. Clay Aiken did it,Brittany Spears did it, Pam Anderson did it. The list of untalented stars is long.
