I want to buy a game console primarily to play Rock Band 2 with the family. No longer a hardcore gamer, so want to have a system that is easy to play other games as well. Which system should I get?

That's kind of a tough question to answer. I'd be inclined to say the Wii is best for non-hardcore gaming and playing with your family, but the Wii version of Rock Band is crippled. It doesn't have the character designer, doesn't have Tour mode, etc. Same thing with the PS2 version. The PS3 and 360 versions are by far the best versions of the game, but they're also consoles that are targeted more towards hardcore gamers. So...I would recommend either a PS3 or a Wii, depending on what you're willing to sacrifice. (I can't really recommend the 360, for reliability reasons.)
