Hi, I have a question regarding my 1993 VW Golf 1.4. When dipping the clutch or slowing down at junctions / traffic lights the car just cuts out, it takes a couple of minutes for the car to start again and is fine until it happens again, any ideas? Thanks

Okay: It takes a couple of minutes for the car to start, this tells me that you may have a fuel (flooding)problem, or an electrical problem. (a loose wire under the dash near the clutch pedal, or possibly an ignition module or if it has a distributer a pick-up coil starting to fail)

sounds like a fuel fault put some cleaner through and see if it improves, also check for air leeks at manifold and inlet
