  • See, like this. "Yes you can answer your own question, in fact, if you think you have the right answer, you can even get points for it...
  • No, I don't think I'm right. I don't think you can get points for answering your own question. I could be wrong. But rarely am. I find it hard to believe you cant.
  • I'm not sure either one of me is right. Sure, you maybe able to answer what you ask but not get points, or you may not be able to answer your own questions but do anyway because nobody else will. How far will you go to get the answer your seeking in the question you ask. Far enough to fight yourself to the death?
  • I don't know the answer to my question, but what I do want to know is, can I comment on myself in an answer I gave to a question I asked?
  • There's nothing stopping you from doing so, and in certain questions, you NEED to... For example, long stories, where you need more room... Answer it with the extension or explanation of the questions. (Usually, you'll say something like "See my answer for more" in the question.) And, there are times some play games. For example (from my profile, FUN! section: Want to play a game? You ... and (for most) see who can answer fastest (and/or give an answer with your own) ... say the line of a movie ... - http://www.answerbag.com/q_view/791512 ... guess the movie from a single frame ... - http://www.answerbag.com/q_view/685475 ... say the line from a cartoon ... - http://www.answerbag.com/q_view/799213 ... say a quote from a TV show ... - http://www.answerbag.com/q_view/804878 ... say a line from a TV Theme song ... - http://www.answerbag.com/q_view/817032 ... say a line from a song ... - http://www.answerbag.com/q_view/804103 ... put down some song lyrics, and I'll try to guess it ... - http://www.answerbag.com/q_view/677094 Where you can either kick it off, or add to the fun. I also asked a question once, in a comment explained what I thought, and was told to answer my own question with it so I could get points! ;-) (There are also times a factual question of yours may have been sitting out there for some time, and you've found the answer. Answer it! You never know. Someone may give you points, because THEY wondered, too. Also, for older questions of yours with NO answers, an answer brings the question back to the home page. You might answer with a "Answered so it could be seen again. Please flag this answer." This way, it will be put back on the front page, and not only may you get points and answers, but someone will get 5 points for moderating the answer as nonsense. DO NOT do this often. This should ONLY be done as a last resort. Keeping your questions on the front page is a version of spamming. But once-in-a-blue-moon should be ok.) So, there are times... Don't make a habit of it.
  • Well, maybe using "one" answer to expand on your question, but carrying on several conversation threads with yourself can seem a tad weird. :)
  • If the machinery allows you to do it then I see no problems...I have done it on occassions.
  • shoot yes it's ok- unless it's a stupid or rude answer, but sometimes a joke answer is fun, or u just want to give an opinion.
  • im sure it is ab fab!
