When you listen to music, do you just enjoy the music or do you remember the names of the songs or artists?

Uhh... both I guess. When I hear a song I recall the artist and name of the song but it doesn't take me the whole song to do that...

I remember things like 'Believe' by Cher - only because she has been around for a long while. I do not recall what Smash Mouth puts out I know I got some of their work on my computer music files - I am hard pressed to recall a title to a song by them. I do know the classics such as Eine Kleine Nachtmusik (The Serenade No. 13 for strings in G major ) by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart Written in Vienna in 1787. I studied classical composers the first and second year of college way back in the middle of the last century - music appreciation stuck with me whereas chemistry slightly slips my mind ;-). I know all of Johnny Cash's songs - but then I went through my 'Cash Period' where all I did was listen to Cash. The rest I just listen because I like the music. My tastes are highly eclectic, including (but not limited to) Rag Time, Rap, country, Hip-Hop, Rave, classical, gospel, Contemporary Religious Music, etc.
