Yes, in a way it's misleading. There are a few users who really deserve their titles. For example, computer expert Karl Plesz really knows his stuff. But not all users, especially the newbies, know who's really the expert in who. So I think "category leader" would be a more appropriate title.

Yes it is misleading no way would points earned mean expert. category leader, category Ace, pretty much anything other than expert would be better. I think they should put up not only the leader but the top three.

Great question! Yes, that is exactly right. You should propose it in an email to the staff. It is dangerous to think that just because someone got the most points in "Could I be pregnant?" or "What is this pill?", that they are an "expert" in either subject. Thanks for the question.++

Yes. You are right. It is totally misleading. Like I'm some sort of librarian!!
-
It really depends .. Some achived the category with real questions and answers, some just stirred the water with some questions to reach it..
-
"Expert"? It's all a numbers game..quantity not quality. Therefore, how can it be valuable/worthwhile/or meaningful? Any title is that, including "category leader". Anyone who floods the system with questions or answers everything that isn't nailed down gets to be top honcho..doesn't impress me at all. :)

I completely agree with you. Category Leader would be a far better description than Expert.
-
Sounds about right.

Well, Ive run across some people who really are experts in certain areas, and they deserve the title. If we could change the name of the title , I think that would lead to less confusion. I also think they should list the top 3, as oppsoed to only one. However, if there were any person who was really an expert in a certain area, I think it is fully possible for them to get that recognition within a few weeks to a few months, depending on the size of category, and quality of their answers. Oh, and how hard they tried.Easier said than done in some areas, but, still totally possible.

Yes, I agree. "Category points leader" would be a better description, not "Category expert." I know it's kinda long but we should never sacrifice accuracy for brevity.
-
Yes, it should be leader, having the most points doesnt make you an expert.
-
Yes I think Category Leader would be much more appropriate.
-
I agree, I would like it changed to category leader.
