  • For one thing, the universe has no center. Black holes generally form when certain kinds of massive stars collapse at the end of their lifetimes. The centers of many galaxies -- including our Milky Way -- are thought to contain super-massive black holes at their centers. Gravity and quantum mechanics have not been reconciled with one another -- that's a hope for future theories.
