  • Police precincts & stations will probably always deny that they have any sort of quota to meet, but I remember a few years ago a document was leaked to the local (Baltimore) media that outlined VERY specific monthly quotas. It included everything from traffic stops & speeding tickets to drug arrests. Kind of scary to think that the only reason you may be getting pulled over is beacuse it's getting close to the end of the month and Deputy Dick is behind on his numbers.
  • I applied for Ca. highway patrol 2 years ago and the way one of the officers explaned it to me was this: They do not have a set number of tickets they are required to give out, but the ammount of tickets they give out is used when determining whether they are doing their job well or not. so no quota number, but it's bacically the same thing.
