  • There is no rule that I know of that a psychologist, or worker in the mental health field, cannot be bipolar. It would entirely depend on their ability to complete the training and perform the duties of the job. My former husband was a social worker, and he was required to attend counseling sessions as part of the job.
  • actually sometimes people who have a mental illness make a better therapist because they can relate to the clients easier than someone who hasn't. I have had a lot of therapist and I can tell who understands where I am coming from because they seem to care a lot more. As long as you are stable, I think it's a great thing. You would be surprised at how many therapist used to be in therapy themselves and that is why they made that career choice. That is actually what sent me down that path
