Yes, I think they should be unscripted. But to be fair, Biden can tend to go on and on, so maybe the Obama camp wants to limit his time too.

I don't follow politics at all, but I don't see the point of debating with a script, which was probably prepared by someone else anyway. I'd rather hear from the candidates own minds and hearts. It would be easier to see if they really believe what they're saying or if they are just well rehearsed at spewing out what they believe voters want to hear.
