i usually find that having a hot shower, holding my head back and having a good snort, cough and carry on helps.

Any kind of warm steam, will help.

Breathing in horse radish steam might help.

Move your body. I often find when I have a cold sitting up really helps if I've been lying down. When I used to live in my mum's house I would walk into the kitchen. Walking into other rooms never helped... only the kitchen for some reason. Experiment!

Steam works for me, you might also try saline nasal spray.
