If "falling in love" was a nice thing, why do people use a painfull verb to describe it ?? (Fall)..

Interesting question. Perhaps the reason would be that the feeling that you get in your chest and stomach is similar to that of taking a dive off a high ledge. Sounds crazy, but as someone who has skydived and bungee jumped and been madly in love, I can truly attest to the fact that at one point, it all felt the same. :)

perhaps they are referring to the lack of control associated with falling. ya know when you fall and you try to catch yourself, but you cant.

Personally as amazing as it can feel falling in love, its absolutely terrifying at the same time. its like there is no turning back now.

Last time I fell, I broke my arm. :D I fell onto a mat in tae kwon do :( I have no idea why this verb is used in that phrase though.

the felling is the same for example if you have ever jumped off a bridge into water or a cliff on a snowboard or been skydiving you would notice the same wonderfull feeling that you get when you truly love someone
