The titans were the 12 children of Gaia(Earth) and Uranus(heaven). They were the ancient gods who ruled before the Olympian gods defeated them and took over. The head titan was Cronus, whose son, Zeus, became ruler after him. The titans were overthrown and banished to Tartarus- the worst place imaginable, below the disk of the world (the earth is flat at this point...) They were called: Coeus Crius Cronus Hyperion Iapetus Mnemosyne Oceanus Phoebe Rhea Theia Themis Thetys.
