  • Calories and fat.
  • I care about the NUTRITION in my food
  • The bottom line is calories. If you are creating a balanced diet for yourself, you're going to have to figure out how to get the most nutrients from whatever caloric level you select. So, say you want to lose weight. As a young woman, I would suggest lowering your caloric intake to around 1,500 - 1,700 calories. Within these caloric parameters you must injest all of the protein, vitamins and minerals that your body requires. For this reason, it is good to stay away from high fat and sugar content foods as both lipids and sucroses will contain a lot of calories with very little nutrients. However, there are foods that can be high in either fat or sugar that can also be good for you. Milk is a good example. As are fruits. Just make sure that you make them part of your balanced diet. Don't go eating ten apples a day because you think that they're good for you. Mix up your diet to optimize the nutrients you injest while keeping your caloric intake at a manageable level. (Oh, and don't forget to exercise... probably the second most important thing to think about after your diet when thinking healthy.)
  • I like them all.
  • i care about them all, but calories are what really matter when it comes to staying at a healthy weight...
  • At the end of the day calories. I can eat 3ooo calories worth of propel and gain weight but loose weight on 1200 calories eating donuts and beer. In some respects, a calorie is a calorie. Dieticians would have a fit with this answer but it works for me.
