i use to just put the seat half down, leave the lid up. now that i have dogs, i put both down, and close the doors.

Ok, this argument goes on all the time. Why should men be more responsible for putting the seat back down than women should be for putting it back up...where it belongs. (?)

It annoys me just because I have to touch the seat to put it down. A wet seat would be worse. :)

I never understood why the seat is even made to come up. Why can't guys just work on their aim; then there would be no arguments?

I rather leave both the seat and lid down, or sometimes I leave both up. No-one in my family has ever had a problem with this. In fact, I didn't even know that some people objected to things such as this until I was told recently. My family has never been so fussy, fortunately.

I live with two boys..and they always remember to put the toilet seat down..Me and my daughter have trained them:):)LOL!! The boys are 3 and 9:):)

Honestly, it's only annoying if you sit before you look (like at night) and fall in. During the day, a wet seat is worse than an up seat because that's just inexcusable. If you make a mess, clean it. Both sexes should be sanitary!

I'd rather have the seat up than a wet seat. I can put the seat down with some TP. Wiping some strangers urine off the seat, nope, can't do it. Certainly can't sit on it afterward.

A gentleman should put it up to use it...but put it down and close it before flushing....ladies should close the cover also..there have been studies showing the spray of the flushing going all over in the bathroom....it really isn't that much work to do so....

both are equally annoying, but i think if i had to choose a wet seat or an up seat, id pick an up seat, as it requires less effort to sort out! i.e just put it down, as opposed to get the toilet roll, wipe it off....wash your hands....yeah you get the point.

up or down doesn't matter but a wet seat is just not right

I can't say I always put it down, but do always wipe the rim with TP before leaving. I don't know where that started, but does keep things cleaner.
