  • I think people only relish this because they can give the information anonymously. If all information were accompanied by the provider's name and contact info, they wouldn't be laughing so hard.
  • they are pranksters who are demon possessed.
  • Likely less-than-educated 'enemies of knowledge', no?
  • No, it's childish !!!
  • because they need your help...
  • Just for a laugh or two.
  • That is why i don't like to follow links somebody posts to the wikipedia as a reference!
  • Because they can. I think Wiki is a bad example to use, because it is not regulated very well, and too many people believe everything they read. I think that, even for a little while, it is bad and dangerous to have that info posted where someone who might not be playing with a full deck can read it and use the info.
  • I believe it is lack of knowledge, education and respect, it is a pity it could be a great site but unfortunately these anonymous users are not tracked down and expelled from the site. They are truly misinforming many people and getting them in trouble specially students. I personally don't use it anymore.
  • Well now I know. I'm embarrassed to say that I didn't know this about wikipedia. Where DO you go to get accurate information?
  • This answer is supposed to be a comment to logybren (see that answer): Most of the educational sites, www.site.edu and the government sites www.site.gov are accurate. Wikipedia is open to the general public, just as Answerbag is, and that means anybody who registers can enter anything the want to enter. It is only verified by the volunteer editors, and there are not enough of them to keep it clean. Other accurate sites are Britannica, which is a fee paid site, and several others that require subscriptions.
