I would stay until I had accepted a firm job offer somewhere else.

no. if its extremely unfair, you will always be unhappy there. i believe happiness is everything. go where they treat you well and you believe in what youre doing and they compensate you fairly for it. there are many places like that in this world. follow your bliss.

I think a lot of people are in this situation right now. Jobs are scarce and employers know it ...so they tend to try to get away with anything they can. I suppose a certain amount of "sucking it up" is required to keep your job. It's not a good position to be in, though ...

I spent 22 years at a similar job, before having to retire EARLY with a very small pension. Sometimes, it can work out. The only problem is, you don't want to be miserable the whole time you are there, (bringing home the pressures and pains, and having it effect the time you have with your family)! If you think that it is something that could also make your FAMILY (if you have one) miserable, it would be best to always have one eye looking elsewhere, as "Lori" said.

What about interviewing, getting some new irons in the fire, so to speak, and receiving an offer somewhere else? That sounds like an incredibly oppressive environment. Thanks for reaching out for support!

Keep your current position while looking for something better. I stayed in a job that I didn't like for many years then was rewarded so to speak with my current job, I will stay here until I retire in six years and I am happy - what more could I ask for! Good luck to you!

I think it depends on your age. If older of course not, if younger , why not. If you are older you will probably realize that many employers work the same HR way, always looking out for the Supervisors. HR wants you to complain so they can defend the employer, it is so much easier to push you out.
