  • Honestly, I'm not sure that they ever had respect for other people's beliefs in the first place. The more "hardcore" religions seem to think that there's only one way to live your life, and that's theirs.
  • "Lose"? You're assuming they ever had some to begin with.
  • Personally, I don't respect very many people period. Respect is something that is earned, not handed out like candy. As a Christian, I follow Scripture. It says to love your enemies and do good to those who despitefully use you, which I do. But it doesn't say to compromise my Biblical belief nor to tolerate blatant sin against Yahweh as many religions practice. Now if another belief (religion or denomination) teaches anything that is contrary to what the Bible teaches then I have no respect for that particular belief but I try to treat the people within that belief system as I would want to be treated. With the kindness and love that Jesus teaches.
  • How did they lose their respect for others beliefs? I don't think they ever had any respect for anything or anyone who doesn't think/act/belief the way they do
  • By believing their the only one whose right.
  • It was easy for (many, not all) of them...there's no money in their having respect for anything beyond the collection plate.
