Given the increased size and weight of an adult, the forces or stresses exerted on a grown up shoe are much greater that that of a child's. Velcro may not be have enough holding power over time.

Old folks do :] It's just a thing where you must seem lazy if you don't bother to get laced shoes.

My husband wears velcro shoes they look ok to me and they dont have long shoe laces on them to trip over. A lot of shoes have velcro or something other than laces. and they are cheaper (and so far they've lasted longer than his other shoes). I've seen some grown up shoes that are more imature looking than velcro but its really just a personal preference....but to answer your question (sorry i ramble at times) they do make grown up shoes with velcro.

I think more do. but I have found that wearing slippers is the way to go. I have 3 pair of Doc Martin's that are tan leather shoes but they don't have laces, they have small hidden pieces of elastic so I can just slide em on. They are great with shorts or blue jeans. I have a pear of black "polished" slip-ons that are the same. I never tie my shoes, I never use velcro. I wear slippers to every event I go to.

What "grown-ups"? All of my sport shoes have velcro. Who the heck bothers with tying laces anymore except for formal shoes...(?)

LOL, funny question. Seems like the obvious answer would be....because they know how to tie their shoes.....but some adult shoes DO have velcro! heheheheh

Lol those are so funny I reamember wearing those in like kindergarden and I liked them cuz you didnt have to tie them. A year or two ago my gf shows up with a pair of them and I couldnt help but laugh, im sure there convienent and everything but its just kinda funny seeing them on an adult.
