To an extent, there may be a degree of culpability on the part of the police. Nevertheless, Rachel was TWICE arrested for possession of illicit drugs. She was a criminal who was given the choice to help the police to lessen the charges against her. No one could have known that the sting would go wrong. That was among the risks that she assumed when she broke the law and decided to cooperate with the police. She is not the first informant that died, nor will she be the last. The murderer(s) who took her life should be tried, convicted, and sentenced to the harshest of punishments ... the death sentence comes to mind. If there was any impropriety on the part of the police, they should be appropriately disciplined.
