Our last house was just a few blocks from a very busy set of train tracks that crossed two intersections. We'd get the pleasure of hearing the blasts from the horn at both intersections. REAL fun at 1:30 in the morning. lol
actually yes, we live in this crumby lil apartments and the train track run right infront of them...trains pass by like 5-10 times a day. honking at ungodly hours.....Gah
We get KC-135's flying overhead, doing touch and goes every once in a while.
Yes, we have trains that come to the Power plant with coal, and a small community airport.
we have a freeway that some of our neighbors can hear and when we go jogging in the morning we feel really sorry for them because its so freaking loud. We dont really get it where we live but sometimes in the morning if you stand in the front yard you can hear it. Mostly its just the neighbors dog barking.
nope. But a very large bear walked across the road and down into my back yard.A car that was passing by stopped to tell me about it.It was a odd time of day 3pm.Usually we see them at dusk and dawn, something wrong with this one.The guns will be brought out this weekend.Must protect our kids.

Yes... a very busy road in front of my house.
I have a train about 3 bocks away. Normally it is not very loud, but my son ALWAYS hears it. "Hear TRAIN mommy??" LOL It's cute.
I lived in Atlantic City for 4 years, In the early morning people would whistle for cabs, jitneys would start moving around (mini buses),and by 7:00 Am there was bedlam. Now I only hear birds, one car goes out at %:30 and comes back at %:00. In the summer there are insects and occassionally coyotes.
I live by a major street and I'm hearing all kinds of noisy things.
Not anymore but I used to here my neighbor having sex thru the wall
I have race car drivers on either side of me. Rolling up and down the road all hours. That's pretty loud and annoying to say the least.
I live near a Hospital, so we hear planty of Ambulances go past.

At night you can sometimes hear a distant train whistle or highway noise that is several blocks away, but aside from that, not much.

My house is about 3 blocks from the railroad. When I first moved here, I noticed everytime a train passed by. It felt like the train was going through my living room. Living here for a few years now, I hardly hear the train, but I've always loved the sounds of trains, enough to write poetry about them!

We lived in that house for about five years and during the day I didn't really notice the trains. It was just hard at night, when I'd be laying there almost falling asleep, trying to ignore my husband's snoring, and finally getting sleepy feeling, than I'd hear a train blasting it's whistle four or five times at each crossing! Not good for insomniacs! lol
