  • No you,re helping out, whats so wrong with that?
  • I think that is very thoughtful. I hope your partner appreciates it. I know I would!
  • I think it's really nice... but, not if those are the only things you do or you use it as a reason why she should be 'your little lady' and you do the 'male' jobs, but she has to do all the 'female' ones etc. The fact that you've even asked this question shows that you are obviously thoughtful though.
  • From the information you've given I would say no. But if someone has called you a male chauvenist because of this, chances are there's probably something a bit more to it- such as if you're doing these tasks but insisting that she does the traditional female ones, or going on about how it's a man's job to take out the trash or something- there's nothing wrong with men doing "manly" things like fixing cars and digging the garden and setting the video recorder, as long as they're not doing them "because women are useless at that kind of thing." So have a look whether you might be implying that kind of view (possibly unintentionally). But apart from that, no I don't think there's anything intrinsically chauvenistic about taking out the trash.
  • Well, I am the man of the house. The head of the whole house based on Biblical law and my wife's choice. We have her 32 year old son living with us, also - one of my big mistakes for inviting him. But, I do the cooking, clean the kitchen, dishes, make cookies, make the bed and clean the bath rooms. So I guess I am an anti chauvinist.
