I didn't grow up on a farm, but I grew up visiting them. Yes, I've heard people call pigs that way, and yes, the pigs came. It's Pavlovian. Every time the farmer would yell that, the pigs would get fed. So, it's no wonder.

I''ve never known anyone with more than one pig. So it was just "here pig," or "here DJ" for the one pig I knew lucky enough to have a name. And yes, they come for food, but pet pigs just come. Like dogs, they just want attention or an ear scratch.
