  • I think this is part of the modern sexual conservative movement. Federal laws have been biased against comprehensive sexual education and responsible birth control for several years now. Assuming the responsibility of a woman's possible pregnancy instead of letting her have that full responsibility does undermine the woman's autonomy.
  • It's a risk management issue. If all women agreed to hold doctors and pharmaceutical companies harmeless and signed a waiver committing to never sue based on drug interaction or birth defects, this would be a complete non-issue.
