Should young women be viewed as "pre-pregnant"? A recent report about sharing medications indicated that it was especially bad for young women because they might get pregnant. Does viewing women as pre-pregnant undermine their value as individuals?

I don't know if it undermines their value,but it implies that they are going to get pregnant, which may or may not be true. Its like calling a young gang member pre-prison inmate.

I think this is part of the modern sexual conservative movement. Federal laws have been biased against comprehensive sexual education and responsible birth control for several years now. Assuming the responsibility of a woman's possible pregnancy instead of letting her have that full responsibility does undermine the woman's autonomy.

It's a risk management issue. If all women agreed to hold doctors and pharmaceutical companies harmeless and signed a waiver committing to never sue based on drug interaction or birth defects, this would be a complete non-issue.

No, as long as they sign a waiver saying that they forever give up any and all rights to any monetary or other compensation for any health problems related to pregnancy or birth defects resulting from any treatment, drug, or other medical attention or inattention received..
