I just follow my parents, and listen to what they say, it's what i'm taught and i am continuing to learn as i grow older

while my dad is jewish, my mom is catholic, so i was never really pushed in to either religion, instead iw as taught the principles of both as well as several other religions. I chose Judiasm on my accord, i just liked its ideals the most. I like the idea of doing good things for people, for living the best life you can, however what was the real hook was the lack of punishment. there is no concept of sin, nor even a hell. everyone goes to heaven, so there's no real "reward" either. essentially you do the right thing, you help people for the sake of goodness, just because it's the right thing to do, not because you fea rpunishment and not because you want to gain favor with a god

I was guided into the one true faith through the power of the holy spirit and the constant love of my brothers and sisters in Christ. I didn't grow up in the church my parents are agnostic.

Well, the influences are both internal and external. 1.) I cannot believe anything that doesn't make sense. If all available evidence points away from an idea or belief, I cannot keep hold of it. 2.) I cannot believe that any higher power of superior intelligence orders murder, rape, genocide, torture, stoning, or any other unethical act. I cannot follow a religion that ascribes such orders to the deity(s), or calls any person or deity making such orders "righteous", "merciful", or "holy". 3.) I cannot believe that any higher power of superior intelligence discriminates, requires us to do so, or is neutral towards discrimination. (This not only includes gender and sexual orientation, but caste/class as well.) 4.) Any religious path I follow has to be about my spiritual growth and evolution. 5.) The actions and attitudes of the adherents are important to me. I cannot endorse proseltyzing. This requires the presumption that the person's beliefs are flawed, and that yours are superior. Such disrespect of another's beliefs, thoughts, and opinions is not something I can be a part of. 6.) The beliefs of the religion must speak to me in a meaningful way. These are just some of the important considerations/influences on my choice of religion.
