What is your favorite family holiday tradition and why?

Anything Halloween. Hubby and I have just followed suit with our many, many children and the vote is unanimous. Halloween starts October 1st and ends, sadly October 31st at MIDNIGHT, of course.

I like Thanksgiving. It is good family time with great food and football. It has none of the frenetic pressures of the Christmas season with all the parties, church festivals, shopping, cards and always lives up to my expectations. I wish Christmas had not been so commercialized. Oh yeah, you did ask about tradition. I like the "surprise" dishes that arrive with a pot luck style meal. A gustatory orgy!

Hmmm... We sometimes drink hot chocolate, and we have parties, watch the fireworks, carol in the village/s, take pictures, eat in feasts and many more!
