On a '99 Jetta TDI, what is the life expectancy of the TDI diesel engine?

Approximately 300,000 miles, however I've seen TDi's needing a new engine at 150,000 miles, and TDi's with over 500,000 miles on them with no problems. I guess the answer in short is: Probably for as long as you own the car :)
