When you answer the question "where are you from?" do you answer with your birth-place or what little you can trace of your heritage?

"I am from a place where we don't end our sentences in prepositions" is what always come to mind when I hear this question. The answer is from an old episode of Designing Women...very funny.

I tell them the place where I am staying at that moment.Actually we say things the way they would make sense to that person.I would tell a foreigner that I am from this country. I would tell the local person that I am from his place and if someone who has come from my previous state then I would tell him I came from that state and like wise if someone who is from my place of birth I would tell him so!

I tell them where I was born. My grandson is WSH XVIII (he's listed IV) but I don't go back into England. I've got so much different blood in me I'm a Heinz 57.
