  • dogs are smarter than cats.
  • A number of intelligence tests have proven dogs are considerably smarter than cats. In one test a glass panel divides a small space that stops about an inch from the floor. One one side of the glass there is a dog or a cat. One the other side there are 4 or 5 small objects where the animal can see them. Each object is tied to a string that runs under the glass to where the animal has access to it. One of the items is highly desirable (like a favorite food) to the animal. Dogs pretty quickly identify which string they need they need to paw to drag the item to their side of the glass to get that item. Cats never figure it out.
