  • I think it's pretty much dead, BUT, interesting story. I am trying to help a lady with her webpage, as a consultant I suppose. Anyway, she was taking notes on stuff I was telling her in shorthand. Couldn't believe it. She's probably 60-65 years old.
  • If I saw a book, I think I could read some, figure out the words. I think it's dead:( Although, I was excellent in that. I loved it!!! My daughter and granddaughter never heard of it, so, that tells me something.
  • I think shorthand is pretty dead. Too many easy-to-use recording devices to learn a dead language. I used to be very proficient in shorthand, but have not used it for any purpose in years (+10 at least).
  • I think it's a pretty much dead art-form as I don't think you can find it taught anywhere. I know shorthand and use it taking notes at work and I'm sure there are still others out there that do as well. I guess with recording equipment and voice-recognition software it just wasn't as necessary in business. Too bad because I still enjoy using it and I know in college it was a life-saver when it came to taking notes in class. Anyone else out there still use shorthand?
