  • sounds like a seizure. my dog had them 1 day and the vet there was nothing wrong that some dogs have them 1x and don't have them again. If they are constant, I would see a vet. The vet can do blood work to check for things like liver function, diabetes, etc which will sometimes cause that.. YOU WILL NEED TO SPECIFICALLY REQUEST A LIVER FUNCTION TEST. it is not included in a standard blood test (my dog had hepatitis and they didn't find it because they didn't do the liver test)..
  • Not a seizure at all. It is very common for Chihuahuas to have this "sneezing" behavior. It is medically called reverse sneezing. It is caused by an elongated pallet. It may be scary to watch, but it is not anything to worry about. If you are worried, check out the many you tube videos of the chihuahuas doing the reverse sneezing to see if it is the same as what your dog is doing.
  • Get a bigger dog and they do the same except louder. Sounds normal. How can you stand those little dogs that think they're the baddest dog on the block but can't whip a small rat? Ick!
