Mine was working very very slow yesterday this is what you have to do, but it takes about 30 minutes... Go to My Computer right click and go down to properties the click on the service tab press defragment disk do it on both, C and D drives And your computer will work faster :P

Mine is running fine. I run a disk cleanup once a week, and defrag every other week. No problems after 4 years.

Pssst! Don't tell anyone but... Windows is crap! To keep a windows system running at peak speed you have to wipe your hard drive and re-install Windows every so often. It's gotten better but still has to be done. Back with Win 98 you should do it once a year. When XP came out you could let it go for a couple of years and Windows Vista? The jury's still out on it. If your computer has slowed down and you don't want to wipe and start over here's a couple of things you can do. Make sure you have an up-to-date anti-virus program, I recommend Bit Defender or if you want to go freeware then AVG Antivirus. Make sure you have an up-to-date malware checker. I recommend Spybot: Search and Destroy (with Tea Timer). Also freeware. Last but not least... An evil Cookie-cutter, such as Ad Aware 2008 (also free). Run each of these at least once a week and your computer should speed up a bit. If not then you should look into the old stand-by of wiping and starting over. If you do start over, the first three programs you should load after a fresh install are the ones mentioned above. Hope this helps.

Get a Mac... problem solved.

No, Just run an anti-virus/adware/spyware and run disk cleanup/defragameter and you should do well if you have good hardware.
-
No, mine is running normal, internet included. Maybe a consequence of the Wall Street problems?
-
Mine is. I haven't installed anything, I defragged and scanned for malware, yet nada.

Maybe the LHC is effecting our pc's hahaha

With all these banks crashing you'd think that half the computers in the world would now be turned off...so we should be running at ultra speed.
-
I have noticed a bunch of lagginess the past two days. I just chalked it up to bad weather.

i don't care who's watching at this point... i am happy if my computer is at least doing 20% of the operations for me... lord knows you hackers have plenty of my bandwidth... what else to you want from me... just load this f*n page already *.*

S low internet speed can be due to a number of factors. Are you running Internet Explorer or Firefox or another? If you are running IE, you can remove useless plug ins that are slowing you down. Are you on a partioned speed or do you have cable internet that is driven by how many users are online? Or do you have dial up? Have you checked for viruses like Trojans? Also, contact your ISP about running a test on connection speed to see if the problem is your actual connection or your own PC.
