  • As with any artist, he has mastered the art of deception. There are YouTube videos explaining in detail how he does it. I saw a Discovery Channel deal also explaining some of his stuff.
  • Considering this is ALL video, the simplest explaination(s) are likely the best for this illusion. Here are some things from a site I found about this: Some interesting points highlighted from the video on the magic are: 1. Criss Angel walked on his heels and his pant hung down and covered the heels. 2. His walking style looks unreal and unnatural on the front part of the magic. 3. The girl in red bikini swam underneath the water instead of crossing the path. 4. Water line on his pants changed, if you believe that the magic sequence was shot in multiple times. 5. A girl crossed between his legs after he took down his shoes, so the area may be without any platform. 6. In some shots, Criss Angel didn’t show weight hitting or weight shifting when stepped down, which made suspension possible. 7. His feet seemed like not stay in a position when stepping. I enjoy watching master illusionists whenever I can and I've found it fun entertainment to try guessing how a person performs a given stunt. Most times I'm correct. I'll have to watch this guy for myself, but I am of the opinion, given the things I've read about this particular trick already, that he uses a combination of at least two things: weight suspension by some type of harness and glass/plexiglass/lexan walking platforms.
  • 1) "for this methond of levitation magic trick, the magician stands in front of a step-up object such as chair or staircase and faces audience with his back. Before that, the magician will modify his pant so that there is an opening that allows one leg to exit from the pant to step on the object, while that sleeve pant is supported or pinned to another sleeve for another leg. When the magic begins, the exited foot simply push up the body of magician so that there is a gap between the feet (including the ‘fake’ leg) with the floor as if magician has levitated. For more difficult levitation magic stunt, such as levitation on the open space, open ground or open area, and Criss Angel levitates to a rather high altitude, it involves video tricks that audience are part of the magic and magician are supported by wire, as explained in the following video." "I do not believe that anybody has the ability to do anything that's supernatural," he revealed in a radio interview with fellow magician Penn Jillette. "I don't have powers, and yet people tell me I do; [they say] I'm the devil." This disarming honesty is unlike most magicians, who prefer to shroud themselves in a cloak of mystery and maintain a constant fog of ambiguity" Source and further information: http://www.newportmercury.com/articles/2006/05/31/features/feature1.txt Further information: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Criss_Angel_Mindfreak http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Criss_Angel
