It could be that your body is rejecting the new hip. It could also just be the fact that hip-replacement surgery is pretty high up there on the list. Meaning it typically leaves you out for quite some time. I'd just keep an eye on your symptoms, chart your temperatures, and go to the emergency room immediately if you suspect dangerous symptoms. You want to make sure you don't contract sepsis, or other bacterial infections.

Try having a thyroid test.

What was the final diagnosis from the ER? Did your clinical picture put you in high suspicion for Lyme disease? and did they give you any prophylaxis for it? Note that a blood test can't rule out Lyme disease if you had a recent tick bite or are in the early phase of stage I.
