Men Only: I have a very tough beard, but also sensitive skin, does any guy have any straight razor shaving secrets/tips?

You still use a cut-throat razor?

Shave while you are in the shower with hot water running. It makes your face and your beard much more cooperative.

I use a shaving cream for sensitive skin (Noxema usually) and apply it to a face wet with hot water. I rub it in well. Then I get in a hot shower to shave (Someone has already said this). I use a Bic razor (the kind they market for sensitive skin). I shave down and then up. I wear a beard, but I shave around it.

Since we've covered that you aren't using an old fashioned straight razor, you would do well to make sure your blade is hot and clean. I put mine under the running water as soon as it heats up. Also going back to grandpa, wetting a facecloth or towel with the hot water and putting it on your face will also soften the beard.
