  • Money-saving tips: 1] Have your residence energy evaluated. Where are your heat and air conditioning dollars going? 1A] THEN take economical, practical steps to close those gaps. Use insulation and/or caulk. 1B] During warmer weather, set your thermostat for 78 to 80 degrees F. During colder weather, set your thermostat for 64 to 68 degrees F. Wear a sweater, pajamas, housecoat or wrap. 1C] Turn-down the setting on your hot water heater. A temperature or setting of "Warm", should be sufficient enough. 1D] Believe it or not: One of THE BIGGEST "thieves" of electricity is the charger you use to re-charge your cell phone. Unless you're re-charging your phone, don't leave the charger plugged in the socket. 1E] When you aren't using your computer, turn it off! 2] DON'T finance or charge anything! Pay C-A-S-H - cash for everything! In other words: Live within your means! 3A] When you go on errands, arrange your trip to save as much gas or petro as possible! 3B] If you're able to do it, walk to do your shopping. 4] When you don't need it on, turn it off! Turn off lights, TVs, radios, stereo, etc. 5] Use those new "pig tail-style light bulbs. 6] Recycle, recycle, recycle AND keep on recycling! Plastic bags, glass and paper. If your area has a facility for tin cans, re-cycle those, too! ALL those things are "renewable" resources. They can be used over and over again.   • I'm sorry this wouldn't post as a "Comment". Due to the fact you didn't "sit on the fence" and "play politics" with my Q, I AM proud of you! Thanks for your high opinion of me! I look at ALL THOSE "New Qs" which CONSTANTLY sstrrrreammmmm on the site by the minute and I say to myself, "we need answers not more Qs". I have knowledge, experience, a little common sense and good writing ability, therefore I prefer answering Qs. As far as the grass and the sky, I never really asked those kinds of Qs. I think I always did things kind of backwards: I took things apart, THEN tried putting them back together. When that didn't work, THEN I looked at the directions. Duuuuhhhhhhh! Not too smart.
